Airport Ambassadors Program
The Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport is looking for individuals to join our new Airport Ambassadors Program. This is a volunteer opportunity to provide general assistance to travelers at BHM. With our Terminal Modernization Project in its second phase and construction set to be complete this summer, we are inviting members of the Birmingham community to help us welcome travelers to a more modernized BHM.
Airport Ambassador duties include:
- Greeting travelers
- Engaging patrons in conversation
- Guiding people through the terminal
- Answering general questions travelers may have
- Helping out during events
- Telling travelers about new amenities and events going on
Those interested in becoming an Airport Ambassador must have a passion for helping others and the city of Birmingham. Volunteers will learn about Alabama's busiest airport and how it operates, as well as get to interact with people from all over the world on a daily basis. This is a customer service position with a lot of talking involved so having good communication skills is a must. Each volunteer will attend an orientation session and complete one training shift.
To be eligible to become an Ambassador you must be at least 18 years old and commit to volunteering once a week for a minimum of three months. If you are interested please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
with "Airport Ambassadors" in the subject line, or call (205) 599-0503.
